Description: This dataset contains polygons representing primary and secondary eagle nest zones. Primary Zone: This is the most critical area and must be maintained to promote acceptable conditions for Bald Eagles. The Primary Zone shall be an undisturbed area extending in a minimum radius seven hundred fifty (750) feet outward from the nest tree. Secondary Zone: Restrictions in this zone are needed to minimize disturbance that might compromise the integrity of the Primary Zone and to protect important areas outside the Primary Zone. The Secondary Zone shall be an area extending outward from the boundary of the Primary Zone a minimum distance of seven hundred fifty (750) feet. Both the Primary and Secondary Zones are displayed from each Nest Point. This data is managed as an element in reviews of proposed development project applications received by the County to determine appropriate development options and constraints.
